Quality requirements that must be met by jam, extra jam, jelly, extra jelly, jam, jelly-jam, jam and sweetened chestnut puree in production and placing on the market

Article 4. - 15. Quality requirements
Additional product category not covered by Council Directive 2001/113/EC - "jam"
"Jam" means a product of suitably thickened consistency produced by cooking fruit pulp and / or fruit purée of one or more kinds of fruit, with or without added sugar. The amount of sugar that is allowed to be added to the jam is up to 25% of the total amount of fruit.
National measure - Art. 5. products referred to in Article 1 (1) of this Ordinance which have a reduced sugar content may be placed on the market under the names set out in Annex I to this Ordinance, provided that they contain at least 55% soluble dry matter.
